All-on-6 Dental Implants in Antalya

All-on-6 replaces every tooth in one jaw with a single fixed bridge carried on six implants spread along the arch. At our clinic in Antalya it is planned on a 3D CBCT scan, led by our oral and maxillofacial surgeon, and carried out over two visits a few months apart, where the bone is there to hold six implants.

What All-on-6 is

All-on-6 is one of the full-arch options within our dental implants treatment. Six implants are placed along one jaw, and a complete arch of teeth, made as a single bridge, is screwed onto them. It stays in: you do not take it out to clean it or to sleep, and it does not rest on the gums like a denture. You may also see it called a fixed full arch on six implants.

It works in the same way as All-on-4, with two more implants. If you are weighing the two, our guide to All-on-4 and All-on-6 compared puts them side by side, and our page on All-on-4 dental implants covers the four-implant option in detail. This page goes into what the extra two implants change.

All-on-6 replaces a whole arch. It is not meant for a few missing teeth, which single implants or a small bridge on implants usually replace better, and it does not save teeth that could be kept.

What six implants change

A full-arch bridge takes the whole force of your bite, and that force has to go somewhere. With six implants it is shared among six points along the jaw instead of four. Each implant carries a smaller part of the load, and the bridge is supported more evenly from front to back.

The extra support has practical effects. With implants placed further back, the bridge usually needs to reach less far beyond the last implant, which is the part of a full-arch bridge under most strain when you chew. The six implants are commonly placed more upright than the angled back implants of All-on-4, spaced along the arch where the bone allows. And if one implant ever has a problem, five others are still holding the bridge, which can give the surgeon more room to repair it.

None of this makes All-on-6 the better treatment in every mouth. It is a sound choice where the bone allows it, and All-on-4 is a sound choice where it does not.

The bone six implants need

Six implants need enough bone in six places, including further back in the jaw, where bone is often lost first after teeth come out. In the upper jaw the sinus sits above the back teeth, and in the lower jaw a nerve runs through the bone at the back. The 3D CBCT scan shows how much room there is between them.

Where the bone is good, six implants fit without extra work. Where it has thinned, the options are to build it up first, to use a sinus lift in the upper jaw, or to change the plan to four angled implants. Our guide to bone grafting and sinus lifts explains what grafting involves and how much healing time it adds. You hear which applies to you before you agree to anything.

Who it suits, and who it does not

All-on-6 usually suits you if

  • you have lost all the teeth in one jaw, or those left cannot be saved;
  • the scan shows enough bone along the jaw for six implants, or you are willing to have bone added;
  • you have a strong bite or grind your teeth, and want the load shared more widely;
  • you are in reasonable general health and can travel twice, a few months apart.

We would suggest something else, or caution, if

  • You have lost a lot of bone at the back of the jaw and would rather avoid grafting. All-on-4 is designed for that.
  • Only a few teeth are missing. See single implants and bridges on our dental implants page.
  • You smoke heavily, or have diabetes that is not well controlled. Both slow healing and raise the chance that an implant does not take.
  • You take medicines for bone density, or have had radiotherapy to the head or neck. Tell us before any plan is made.
  • You have untreated gum disease around teeth you are keeping in the other jaw. It is treated first.

Upper and lower jaw

All-on-6 can be used in either jaw, and each jaw is planned and priced as one arch. In the upper jaw the bone is usually softer, and some surgeons prefer more implants there for that reason; the sinus decides how far back they can go. In the lower jaw the bone is usually denser, and the nerves at the back set the limit. It is not unusual for the scan to show that one jaw suits six implants and the other suits four, and a plan can mix them. If you need both jaws, that is two arches, and your written plan says whether they are done together or in stages.

The bridge: temporary and final

The teeth are one bridge, screwed to the six implants, so only a dentist can remove it. Because it replaces lost gum and bone as well as teeth, a full-arch bridge often includes pink gum-coloured material at the base.

In many cases a fixed temporary bridge is attached soon after surgery, if the implants are firm enough. Whether that applies to you depends on how the implants settle at surgery, and on whether bone was grafted; your plan says what to expect.

The final bridge is made on the second visit, once the implants have healed. Your mouth is scanned, the bridge is designed and made in our in-house dental lab, then tried in and adjusted for your bite and smile before it is screwed in. The material is named in your written plan.

NTA or Straumann for All-on-6

All-on-6Price per archWhat it means for you
With NTA implantsOn your written planOur standard implant and the lower-priced choice
With Straumann implantsOn your written planA widely used system, with parts available almost everywhere

Both Swiss systems are made for the same job. With six implants in the mouth, some patients prefer Straumann because a dentist at home is likely to have the parts if work is needed years from now. The surgeon recommends a system from your scan, and your plan names the system and model placed.

Your treatment, day by day in Antalya

Before you travel

Send us a recent panoramic X-ray or CBCT scan if you have one, photographs of your teeth or denture, and a note of your health and medicines. A dentist replies with whether six implants look likely, whether grafting may be needed, the visits and a written price. It stays provisional until the scan in Antalya confirms the bone.

First visit, day one: the scan and your plan

The surgeon examines your mouth, takes a 3D CBCT scan and records your jaws with an intraoral scanner, then plans the position of each of the six implants. You go through it together, including which teeth come out and whether bone is added, and agree the plan and price in writing.

Surgery day

Under local anaesthetic, teeth that cannot be kept are removed and the six implants are placed, with any grafting planned for that visit. Six implants take longer than four; the surgeon tells you roughly how long to expect.

Before you fly

We see you again in the following days to check healing and, where planned, fit the temporary bridge. Rest, eat soft food and enjoy a quiet few days in Antalya. The surgeon tells you when it is safe to fly, particularly after a sinus lift.

Second visit: your final bridge

After a few months the surgeon checks each implant. Your mouth is scanned for the lab, the final bridge is tried in, adjusted and screwed into place, and you are shown how to clean it.

How many days and visits

All-on-6 is usually two visits. The gap is usually a few months, commonly three to six, and longer if bone is grafted first. We usually suggest allowing about a week for each visit. Your written plan confirms the visits and days before you book flights; treat these figures as typical, not promised.

The price

All-on-6 is priced individually in your written plan after we have seen your scan, with NTA or Straumann implants, rather than as a fixed figure on our dental price list. How many teeth come out, the implant system and whether bone has to be added all change the total, so the plan sets out each item for your case. An arch is one jaw, so both jaws are two arches.

Anything your case needs on top is listed in the same plan, so you see the total before you agree: a sinus lift at €260 per site, and any bone graft, which is priced in the plan. For comparison, All-on-4 is on the price list at €5,700 per arch with NTA implants. You pay in euros, by cash, credit card or bank transfer, split over the two visits.

All-on-6 is also offered as an all-inclusive package, Ultimate Harmony; what it includes is on our smile packages page. Our full mouth restoration cost guide shows how larger plans add up, and the treatment plan builder works from the same list.

Living with All-on-6

  • Expect swelling and bruising for several days; six implants, and any grafting, can mean a little more than four.
  • Keep to soft food while the implants heal, and treat the temporary bridge gently.
  • Do not smoke, and follow the cleaning you are shown without disturbing the stitches.
  • Give your speech and chewing a few weeks to adjust to a fixed bridge.

Back home, clean under the bridge every day with a water flosser or special floss as well as a toothbrush; six implants mean six places where food and plaque can collect. See your own dentist and hygienist regularly, and ask about a night guard if you grind. Our guide to implant aftercare with your dentist at home covers what to tell them. If anything worries you, send us a photo on WhatsApp.

Risks, and what can go wrong

  • Swelling, bruising and discomfort for several days.
  • An implant that does not integrate, which then has to be removed and later replaced.
  • Nerve injury in the lower jaw, causing tingling or numbness of the lip or chin, usually temporary.
  • Sinus problems in the upper jaw, especially after a sinus lift.
  • A graft that does not take, where bone was added.
  • A chipped or loosened bridge, more likely if you grind.
  • Peri-implantitis, inflammation that can, over years, destroy the bone around implants.

We will not promise how long your bridge will last or that every implant will take. What we can do is plan six positions on a 3D scan, tell you your own risks honestly and see you through both visits.

QuestionsAll-on-6 questions

Does All-on-6 surgery hurt?

The implants are placed under local anaesthetic, so during surgery you should feel pressure and vibration rather than pain. Afterwards a full arch usually means swelling and soreness for several days, often worst on the second or third day, managed with the painkillers the surgeon recommends. Grafting or a sinus lift at the same time can add to it.

How long does All-on-6 last?

No one can promise how long yours will last. Implants that have integrated well can serve for many years, but it depends on your bone, your health, smoking, grinding and above all how well you clean under the bridge. The bridge wears like any restoration and may need repair or replacement in time. Regular check-ups catch problems early.

How much does All-on-6 cost?

All-on-6 is priced individually in your written plan once we have seen your scan, with NTA or Straumann implants, because the number of extractions, the implant system and any bone work vary from case to case. An arch is one jaw. A sinus lift or a bone graft, if your case needs them, are listed in the same plan so you see the total before you agree. Payment is split over the two visits.

Is All-on-6 better than All-on-4?

Not in every mouth. Six implants share the biting force more widely and support the bridge further back, which suits a strong bite and good bone. All-on-4 uses angled implants to work with less bone, often without grafting. Both are sound when they fit your jaw, and your 3D scan decides which does.

Will I need a bone graft for All-on-6?

Not always. If the scan shows enough bone in six places, the implants go in without it. If bone has been lost at the back of the jaw, you may need a graft or a sinus lift first, or the surgeon may suggest four angled implants instead. You hear the options, with prices, before you agree to anything.

Will I have teeth between the two visits?

In many cases a fixed temporary bridge is attached soon after the implants are placed, if they are firm enough, so you go home with teeth while the bone heals. Whether that applies to you depends on the implants at surgery and on any grafting, and your written plan says what to expect. The final bridge is made on the second visit.

Can I have All-on-6 on one jaw and All-on-4 on the other?

Yes, if that is what your bone suggests. Each jaw is planned on its own from the scan, and it is not unusual for one to have room for six implants and the other to suit four angled ones. Your written plan prices each arch and sets out both before you agree.

How long will I need to stay in Antalya?

All-on-6 is two visits. We usually suggest allowing about a week for each, the first for the scan, surgery and checks, the second, a few months later, for the final bridge. Grafting can lengthen the gap between visits, and treating both jaws can add a little to the stay. Your written plan confirms the days for your case.
